I tried to deactivate the addons, but I only get asked, if I want to restore a backup![Bildschirmaufnahme 2026-07-07 152457.mp4 [video-to-gif output image]](https://s5.ezgif.com/tmp/ezgif-55a48aedecc76a9a.gif)

Hello,
are you clicking the addons toggle once or twice? One click should do it. Also, does that backup restore popup show up right after just one click, and does the toggle then jump back to ON by itself?

First of all, thanks that you think I'm that stupid, that I cannot use a toggle button.
Found the problem, The message/response is only misleading.
You could report, that the folder could not be renamed -
Hello,
that really wasn't my intention at all, I don't think that about you. I asked because sometimes mice develop a double click issue over time from wear and tear, so I just wanted to rule that out, nothing more.
Could you tell me more about the renaming issue you mentioned? So if I understand correctly, the addons folder couldn't be renamed due to missing permissions, and that's what prevented the addons from being disabled? If that's the case, this is definitely something the launcher should detect and show a proper message for instead of the misleading backup prompt.
Thanks a lot for digging into this and reporting it, we'll get this fixed.

Yea, I had a mouse which developed a double click instead over time. This context could have helped in the first message.
I understand that.I had an IDE open, which held files in the addons folder locked, so the whole fodler could not have been renamed due to this file locking.
Under normal circumstances this should not happen. The normal user does not lock files in the game's installation folder
But in rare cases, when the file system would report, that the rename was not successful, a different behaviour would be nice -
Hello,
thanks for the details. We'll make sure the launcher properly detects when the rename fails due to file locking or any other filesystem error, and shows a clear message instead of just falling back to the backup prompt. This will be included in the next launcher update.
Thanks again for taking the time to report this and help us track it down, really appreciate it.
Regards
