I investigated why I am unable to complete 421731 [The Lost Appendix], which is still listed as incomplete in Codex.
My current quest state is:
421729 = completed
421730 [Stolen Book] = completed
421731 [The Lost Appendix] = not completed
421732 = completed
421731 [The Lost Appendix] requires 1x 203658 [Appendix of Ecological Facts, Part 3] to start.
I previously tried farming the Shadowmoon Cove enemies for this item, but it never dropped.
After checking the current Chronicles of Arcadia quest data, the reason appears to be that 203658 [Appendix of Ecological Facts, Part 3] is only generated through the quest-kill drop data of 421730 [Stolen Book].
The current quest data contains the following 203658 drop entries while 421730 [Stolen Book] is active:
100334 [Cruel Shadowmoon Sailor] -> ProcPercent 30
100335 [Wretched Shadowmoon Sailor] -> ProcPercent 40
100336 [Shadowmoon Wanderer] -> ProcPercent 50
The item is not present in normal NPC loot, Treasure data, quest rewards, or another current producer that I could find.
421730 [Stolen Book] is non-repeatable (`iCheck_Loop = 0`). Once it has been completed, it is removed from the active QuestLog and its quest-kill item generation no longer runs.
This means that if 203658 [Appendix of Ecological Facts, Part 3] was not obtained before completing 421730 [Stolen Book], the character can no longer obtain it through the normal quest path.
421731 [The Lost Appendix] itself does not require 421730 to be active or completed. Its requirement is the item 203658 [Appendix of Ecological Facts, Part 3]. Therefore, if the item were available again, 421731 could still be accepted.
The current CoA Secret Quests guide also states that this item drops only during 421730 [Stolen Book].
Could you please confirm whether it is intended that 421731 [The Lost Appendix] becomes permanently inaccessible after 421730 [Stolen Book] has already been completed without obtaining the item?
If not, could the acquisition path for 203658 [Appendix of Ecological Facts, Part 3], or another way for affected characters to access 421731 [The Lost Appendix], please be checked?
