Healing rework

  • Hello,

I have been playing this game for 10 years and have always been a healer. Both priest and druid. The last years I've only played druid.

The way healing currently works with either priest or druid is in dire need of a rework.Healers don't have mandatory stats that they have to use. The only thing that counts is the items used and how high they are tiered. Also, especially with druids, the HoTs with their caps are very low and almost useless with the current gear. This will not change in the future if healing in general and the HoT caps aren't reworked. A tank with 3 million health gets a HoT with 36.020 from recover, very low compared to nowadays hp values and with little impact. Healing at the moment is mainly reduced to either mother earth's fountain and recover on a druid or urgent heal on a priest. Healers basically can stat like tanks without any wisdom and still dont loose any healing due to the low wisdom cap. What are the wisdom stats for? There should be must-have stats for healers to that directly impact your healing output.

E.g. it would be an approach if you do something in the direction that the healing on the items scales with the wisdom. For example, if you consider 100k wisdom as 100% healing, an item with 5k healing at a wisdom of 50k will only give 2,5k healing effectively, so 50% less. If you had 150k wisdom, the item would give 7,5k healing.

This would at least in some way force you as a healer to use certain stats.

  • The problem is wisdom does a lot of things for everyone including non-druids & non-priests. This is the breakdown of how wisdom affects everyone. As you see, the healing bonus is low because other classes do have healing spells too (knight has self heals, etc). For "real" healers you have to increase Healing Power Bonus to increase how much you heal for after the small amount you get from wisdom.

    Priest:

    5 Mana Points

    0.1 Mana Points Regen (MP/2s)

    3.2 Magical Defense

    0.9 Magical Accuracy

    7/9 or 0.7778 Magical Resistance

    0.3 Healing Bonus

    Druid:

    5 Mana Points

    0.1 Mana Points Regen (MP/2s)

    3.0 Magical Defense

    0.9 Magical Accuracy

    7/9 or 0.7778 Magical Resistance

    0.3 Healing Bonus

  • The problem is, that the healing bonus from wisdom is capped at round about 10-12k wisdom (buffed).

That's why it is useless statting wisdom. Even the Heal over time is capped. 36k HoT from recover is really low and nearly useless.

    Stats:

Magical Defense: You can ignore this in pve

Magical Accuracy: You can ignore this in pve (as healer)

Magical Resistance: You can ignore this in pve

After all there is a little bit more mana and mana regen with wisdom. But who cares this? You have a mana problem if you use spells which cost percentage mana, but then more mana is not usefull. There are strong potions you can use for mana recovery.

More healing power from mana without reducing the base healing on equip is not usefull. Right now you still have a lot of overheal. A Druid with more than 2kk healing with recover is too much, if you want to increase the healing power more and more.

I guess the problem is, that healers can stat like they want. You just need the base items and a weapon (you don't really need a weapon for huge heal output ^^). You could stat like a pdd and don't loose healing outcome

    Kind regards

  • I wish healers could stat like any mage or champ, with 6x pink wisdom stat and that would help your healing but not, wisdom is useless atm. A change like this would require a lot of balancing and time... but since class balance is coming, who knows, they might reconsider this. Bring wisdom and HoTs back xD

  • As Lutine have said. Healing Bonus for wisdom is cap'd.

    I would make two suggestions.

    1. Reduce the amount of healing bonus on the items

    2. Remove the healing bonus cap for wisdom and rework the healing bonus benefit of wisdom, so that you could gain more healing Bonus if you raise your wisdom, than statting like a tank

That would mean, that a healer will directly need to calculate if he/she wants more Life/Def or Heal.

It will be even more interesting if in future instances the difficulty is that high, that you need way more heal than the actual way to gear up and play your healer provide (stamina and def/hp stats, and high tiers OR boost your wisdom)
