Hello,
to increase your Corrupted Power you can use "Destruction Core" (1249208) commonly found in the Orkham Instance,
or "Dark Core" (1244827) found in the Dark Core Instance.

Old players never had it for free , we farmed dark core / orkham to get cores from it.

All players have same opportunity to obtain same bonus as old players by crafting weapon from NPC directly, after which Corrupted Power will be given 1x per character.

You're talking about how to raise corrupted power. This can be done by right clicking on cores from dc / orkham. Those were farmed by players and wasn't obtain for free as you say
