New Player Class Ideas

    Hello,


    I am someone who played a lot of this game back many years ago and have very fond memories of it and have recently found this server.


    Is anyone able to suggest some classes/build combinations that are good in this server? Ideally I'm looking for a class that can farm solo easily, as I imagine this game's population isn't what it was back in those days, and a class combo that has some fun utility but may also be able to dps and be useful in group content.


    If you have any other suggestions for builds let me know I'd be interested to try multiple!

    Hier kann man 11 Klassen pro Charakter haben, da kannst du alles spielen. Du brauchst nur die nötigen Dias, um Rassenwechsel zu machen. Natürlich kommt dann noch einiges mehr, Klassenerweiterungsscheine etc pp. Es gibt hier ein WIKI, da kannst dich mal belesen.Du kannst CoA vielleicht mit dem normalen RoM vergleichen, aber wirst schnell merken, daß es hier vieles Neues und andere schöne Inhalte gibt.

    I would always recommend Mage/Warlock to new players if they want to go for magical classes.

    • it's ranged in single target, however AoE is a channel around you unless you use the ranged (way worse) Meteor Shower - but maybe Static Field could be better early game until you get channel speed gloves,
    • it has some HP recovery and damage reduction to keep you alive quite easily,
    • it's easy to play, you can even play the reverse class combo Warlock/Mage with the exactly same gear and weapon (roll) and warlocks are super useful always,
    • it's very useful due to its support (reduces defenses of everything by 10% with the 70 elite skill),
    • it's very powerful, probably one of the best mages in the (endgame) meta,
    • it's very comfortable for farming/questing due to HP regen and channeled AoE, you can even cast/channel while running
    • it has a decent DoT "Soul Pain" that can be used for constant damage on bigger mobs and is also quite decent as a short time cast,
    • You just need the superior race of the Dwarf to get the Warlock class, and bcz its the best race of all, you can stay on it forever afterwards!

    So it's probably the best starting class if you want to go for a mage... the only disadvantage might be the higher costs for the gear compared to other classes.. :/
