well if you are talking entire server V server then there are a few things to think about.

Numbers- if one server has 50 people log in and the other has 10 people log in then it's pretty obvious who will win because on a straight out battle 10 can't beat 50. Nothing to say it has to be a straight out battle though, castle and defending structures can balance out that 10 to 50 but you wouldn't know the numbers before the match actually started.

Timezone- if it is like Siege atm where the match goes for a specific period of time then you need to consider the play time of the majority of people, siege is currently very regular and so people can organise their guild for a time that suits them but what you get is guilds just playing against an alt guild because there is no one else to play. If you had it going constantly then it probably wouldn't work because most of the time there would be very few people actually in the "zone"

Reward- if you make it anything like diamonds then people will just log in 20 alts to boost up their diamond pool, so that is probably not a good idea. If you make it something useless then people will be less likely to actually do it, some definitely would play it for the challenge but majority of people want a reward. If you make it character specific then it won't work either and having the same reward every time also wouldn't work.

Play style- since RoM has tanks, healers and DPS you might need to take that into consideration, if the style is a pure DPS fight then tanks will feel useless and be less likely to play. I have been in many G v G fights in other games and you can adapt play to suit, heavy chars like tanks run in hard while more squishy chars hang back and heal/dps from a distance, these are lost of fun but it comes back to numbers, 50 will always beat 10 every time regardless of char types. Now if you had structures that are guarded by NPC that then need to be defended that can work for the 10 but as I said before you wouldn't know who has 10 or 50 before the match starts.

So basically I didn't give any real ideas but just gave you things to think about =)

I'll likely organise something for my timezone also, keep an eye out in a couple hours.

Partial reason for on the spots is to ensure people don't prepare alt after alt ready for the runs and we like to reward our dedicated players in game :)

Sounds like a plan, hope they gave you a list of the guilds that already went today =)

little birdy told me today would have been a good day to wake up early, apparently there were a few GM's doing GM guild runs.
Sux I have to wake up like 4 hours earlier than normal to be able to get into GM runs =(

every now and then they put housemaids back to normal so people can get the low lvl food, they usually tell us when they do though. usually lasts a few days to a week at lower level and then back to max.
A GM will no doubt pop in and say pretty much the same thing at some stage.

    "the servers are back online!
Sigils have been returned to their owners."

I went from a stack down to 1 sigil, I log in and I still have 1 sigil, so how is it that the sigils we returned?

well the brown from last boss was won with a greed roll for stat, so that says something =)

First of all a big thanks to Kratox for taking people through Hos HM today.

I just happen to log in several hours earlier than my normal play time to see the world chat post about a GM run, so I am curious if this is something that is done regularly at that time or was it a once off type thing?

Seemed to me it was a normal type thing, everyone rolled as they should do, no greedy little buggers clicking need on everything, it was nice. Mind you I didn't get anything because it was pretty much all mage loot that dropped but it was cool anyway =)

What we are trying to avoid is players logging on and performing actions while they are not even there, gold botting, item botting etc etc for hours on end.

Players may use a macro to do dailies which is somewhat automated also. Provided they are not afk as performing actions in game without user input for hours is not tolerated.

Show me a macro (in game function) which targets objects and interacts with them and I will never bring this up again because the simple fact is there is no such in game function. all the characters you see at research daily that deselect the quest NPC when they "click" the bottles are using a third party programme which manipulates the memory for the game to force the character to target the object and then interact with it.

Don't get me wrong I am not trying to say how the rules should be I am merely saying call a spade a spade and if that is allowed then say so because as it stands the rules say no to using a third party programme and yet it seems that is infact allowed aslong as you are not AFK.

    Currently #4 has this.

Botting is defined as: Using a thrird party software to alow your character move and functioning automatically.

Maybe it should be more accurately put like this?

Botting is defined as: Using a third party software to allow your character to move and function automatically while you are not at the keyboard, if you are at the keyboard then it is fine.

    Does that sound more accurate?

Minigames match your character level for the loot, if you are after lvl 70 items then use lvl 70 character, you could lvl an alt or just do another class on current character. This would get you the materials pretty easily, just as an option if they aren't added to Item Shop of course.
