Best Video Competition

  • Hello, players!
We used to have a contest for the best video on any topic. First place was awarded 25,000 diamonds and golden wings. If I'm not mistaken, second place was 15,000 diamonds, and third place was 10,000.

I invite everyone to vote. I'm sure you're very creative players ^^

Just imagine if one of these prizes were yours. You'd be able to afford something you always wanted but couldn't. Imagine owning golden wings. What would you do with them? Sell them at auction and boost your character's stats, or wear them yourself and outshine everyone else?

  • Hello,

The idea of a video contest can be nice for the community. It can encourage players to create content, promote the game, and share creative videos.

However, I have a serious concern about this.

In the past, when we uploaded videos related to the game on YouTube, copyright claims were sent by the previous publisher / former copyright holder, and two of my YouTube accounts were banned / closed because of this.

Because of that experience, video contests feel risky to me.

Players may join such a contest with good intentions, spend time creating videos, and then later face copyright problems on YouTube. For players who already experienced this kind of issue, this is a very important concern.

If a video contest is planned again, I think some things should be clarified first:

Is there official permission for players to upload videos?

Can it be guaranteed that players will not receive copyright claims on YouTube?

Which game footage, music, and sounds are allowed to be used?

Could videos be uploaded through a safer PlayerNet / Chronicles of Arcadia platform instead of personal YouTube channels?

If a player’s YouTube channel is affected by copyright claims, will there be any support?

Without clear answers to these points, I personally cannot support this idea comfortably.

The rewards may be very nice, but if there is a risk of losing a YouTube account or channel, that risk can be much bigger than the reward.

    Thank you.

  • One thing I can say for sure is that you can only use music on YouTube without copyright infringement from YouTube's own library. There really is a great selection of music there for every taste.

    Hello,

Yes, I agree that using music from YouTube's own audio library is the safest option for background music.

However, my concern is not only about music.

In the past, the problem was related to game videos uploaded to YouTube and external copyright claims connected to the game content itself. Because of that, two of my YouTube accounts were banned / closed.

So even if we use safe music from YouTube's library, I would still like to know if uploading game footage for such a contest is officially safe for players.

That is why I think clear rules and official permission would be important before starting a video contest.

    Thank you.

  • Besides YouTube, there are other video platforms. You can upload videos to Vimeo. I even asked the AI about it, just in case. He said there wouldn't be any copyright issues or blocking by the game developers. So you could try uploading to Vimeo :saint:
