This is a step by step guide about the necessary quests to enter Secret Temple of Tikal. It will be the beginning of all custom instances created in Chronicles of Arcadia and the first way to the End-Game of this server.
Before anything, I will explain later what is the “Black Codex Transport Spell”. If you already know what this is, it’s truly recommended to complete all the quests that we are going to do. If you don’t know what this is, wait to read more about it on the quest "8. Nobody trusts me!” inside the section "The Pillars of Morfan".
I’ll try to explain separately all and each one of the quests to make it an easier process to understand.
To start, we should go to the map Lost Island of Atlantis. You can go using the Snoop, clicking the “recall” spell on “k” (by default) or, if is the first time, trough one quest on Varanas bridge.
Once we are on Atlas city, we should use a portal. It is at the left of the main city gates, right on the top of the stairs. This portal will teleport us to the NPC who will start the quests chain. It is on the southwest of Dragonfang Ridge map, in the continent of Candara.
(Important Note: It is highly recommended to mark a transport point in this area because we are going to come back to it many times during this process).
This NPC is called Bolon Yokte. He will be sleeping so, we will need to kick him and sing to him until we get a quest.
No memories: Talk to Bolon until he gives the next quest. Now we have to get 10x “Fur of a Tikal Warrior” (both Tikal Warrior and Tikal Sage mobs will give them). Warning! They have a big amount of HP and they do way more damage than normal mobs. It is possible you need to ask for help if you are a new player. Once we have all of them, we go to Bolon Yokte.
Spy!: We have to go back to the beginning and Bolon will give us a potion (Invisibility Potion of Bolon). When we use it the effect will last for 5 minutes (you can ask for another potion on the same Bolon NPC if the quest fails). We should go to where all the warriors and sages mobs are. There is a specific point, between the pillar and the wall (see the picture). We need to stand there and wait. After a few seconds, people will start talking and we can read those sentences in chat. Just need to wait, quest will be completed. When is finished, we go back to where we started.
A city?: Also at Bolon, just need to talk to him until he gives it. Is the first one of the “hard” quests in this process and you will probably need help from one person or even from a group. Quest is asking us to go to different instances to kill the final boss. Once we have this completed, we will get the first key (there are three). This key is called, “Moon”.
In all the quests, they want us to kill the final boss of the instance. In this quest and in all the others, we will need to change the instance mode into the hardest possible. If highest mode is normal, then we go in normal mode (like the instances in this quest) and if the highest mode is hard, then we go in hard mode (next quests).
Dungeon of Dalanis (Normal - Level 57). Maxim Erekat III
It’s on the map of Thunderhoof in the continent of Zandorya. We go to the gate on the east side of the city and right under the floor is the first portal. Once we are inside, we have to walk through all the zone until we reach the end. Real portal to the instance will be there.
Warnorken Arena (Normal - Level 58). Baron Reuen von Jura y Consul Mariachi
It’s on Southern Janost Forest map and in the continent of Zandorya. The instance is at the south of the map. The portal is at the entrance of the castle, going down using the stairs. This instance is different to the rest, it only has bosses and not mobs. You have to summon them talking to the NPC inside the arena.
Once is completed, we go back to the beginning (remember the best option was to mark Bolo NPC zone) and we have to talk again to Bolon Yokte. He will give us the first key (Moon).
Nobody trusts me!: This quest is given by the same Alom in the city and is the second big adventure of this chain. This time the instances are harder.
The Pillars of Morfan (Hard – Level 87). Horban
It’s in the Jungle of Hortek in the continent of Gerador. This instance is at the top of a mountain right in the central zone of the map. You can’t go there by walking because there is a huge invisible wall in the way. This wall belongs to a quests chain that you probably didn’t do. The easiest thing is for someone on the group to open a portal so you can enter.
Another option is to buy the Black Codex Transport.
It requires 200 Ancient Mementos (you probably have enough after doing the previous instances) and is sold by the NPC called “Black Codex Transporter”. She is in Kampel Town, a city inside Land of Malevolence map in the continent of Zandorya. The skill will appear next to the rest of your crafting or recall skills (“k” by default). This skill is called “Black Codex Transport Spell”. When you open it, you can click the region/continent you want to go and then select the instance. They are ordered by requirement level to enter. (Note: Your character will need to match the requirement level of every instance or this won’t teleport you there). Each travel cost 1 transport rune.
Once you complete the three instances, go back to Lyk to see Alom. He will give us the next key (Sun) and also the next quest.
The last Proof: Last round of killing bosses. In this occasion there aren’t three bosses but only two. The problem is they are harder than the previous ones.
Cyclops Lair (Hard - Level 93). Uguda
It’s in Dragonfang Ridge map (same map as most of the quests but at the northwest) in the continent of Candara. Go there by walking is hard due to how messy and twisted this whole zone is. I recommend, more than ever, to use the Black Codex Transport Spell. Cyclops Lair was the first custom instance ever created in Chronicles of Arcadia.
Once is completed, we go back to the initial zone to talk to Kinich Ahau. He will give us the last key (Stars).
Last Act (Part I): Right where we delivered the previous quest, a NPC appears and is called Pakal, King of the Lost City. We must give him the three keys (Moon, Sun and Stars). He will disappear and we should walk a little because he will be waiting right after the zone full of Tikal Warriors and Tikal Sages mobs. We talk to him to finish the quest.
Hope this guide was helpful. Have a nice journey!
